One example is the Yank This is a round-butt pocket pistol, albeit a bit on the large size. This snubnose has a 3-inch barrel and among modern revolvers compares most strongly with the similar-sized Charter Arms. The Snubnose has the best fit and finished of any Pietta revolver that I have shot. It features a richly blued barrel, color case-hardened frame and magnificent one-piece dark walnut grips with exhibition-grade checkering.
I examined the gun closely as I degreased it prior to shooting, and I found nothing to alter my impression that this pistol is a quality firearm. Loading of round balls can be done with the separate brass loading rod provided with the gun or using a revolver cylinder loading stand.
These stands are available from Dixie Gun Works and others and allow percussion revolver cylinders to be more easily, and uniformly, loaded than charging the cylinders in the gun. My homemade stand allows me to load three sizes of revolver cylinders with one instrument. I now use softened beeswax-based bullet lube as a over-ball seal, and this permanent non-sticky lube is much easier to apply when the cylinder has been removed from the gun.
The heavier elongate bullets produced less velocity with 25 gr. The grain bullet pushed by 22 gr. By way of comparison, the percussion Remington revolver shot a grain round ball at ft. Of these loads, the grain Ojamaa bullet appeared to be the best choice for the percussion snubnose pistol for maximum effectiveness, although the less expensive round ball load is fine for plinking and cowboy-action use.
Putting a dab of grease on the face of the hammer prior to shooting also helps prevent the caps from sticking to the hammer face. For potential self-defense uses I think that this revolver would have enjoyed good sales in the s.
This is the second attempt that I am aware of for Pietta to put this style of grip on its reproduction Colt revolvers. Colt used a similar grip on its first double-action revolver, The Thunderer. Although it is non-authentic on percussion pistols, using these grips results in a large bore percussion revolver that can be carried in a pocket for those who have use for such an arm.
Need to get me one of these 19th century weapons. I recently purchased one of these snub nose with the Thunderer grips. While I have modern weapons, I find myself drawn to these older style pistols. Dixie Arms Company’s New Pietta Snubnose: The coolest percussion pocket pistol ever.
For shooting my Colts, I put a dollop of bore butter on the arbor and find I can shoot all week. I got some spare cylinders too. So I wanted two for shooting, one as a spare, and a full set of spare parts, SO I turned the spare parts gun into a snubbie for side matches.
I basically got two full sized revolvers, all the spare parts, and a snub nosed for a side match for the cost of a Uberti cartridge revolver. They shot good too. Now mine didn't have the nice bird's-head grip on the OP's I just used to pre-load a cylinder or two with one of the full sized revolvers, then put it in the box, and used it when the time came on the snubbie.

I have had mine for over a year now and I am well pleased with it. I bought it solely for use with a conversion cylinder and it has been perfect for that function. Mine has as smooth and slick an action as you could want in a single action revolver and it's a natural for point shooting and close up social work. A true big bore snubbie. Better get one while you can This is my 2nd review it has been over a year and this is simply my favorite gun.
The more i got used to it the more accurate it became. This has become my favorite and most reliable carry gun. My advice is to go ahead and get a off gun reloading press such as the one Black Dawg sells or make one. As a previous reviewer mentioned i have rarely ever seen a gun come out of the box with such a fine action as this one.

The Crusaders suffered a 30-point loss to Purdue in their last outing, The step-up in competition should we a wake-up call following an 8-0 start against marginal opponents. They also beat the Cardinals last year despite shooting just 23 percent from 3-point range.
The value side is with the underdog Saturday. Army West Point has not won back-to-back games over Navy since 1996, and the Black Knights just ended a 14-year losing streak to their bitter rivals in 2016. But you know what. Army is the better team this season. The Black Knights are 3-0 ATS in this game dating back to 2014 and are on a roll this year with wins over Temple and Duke (as well as a shutout of Air Force) before a close three-point loss to a talented North Texas team.
Navy, meanwhile, has lost five of its last six and only has a three-point win over Air Force this season. Ball control is the name of this game, and Army badly wants that Commander In Chief Trophy. Go Army, Beat Navy. This provides an advantage position against the total because we should clip the Over by nearly 10 points.
Look for a shootout in this one. They are covering in 62 percent of simulations, making them a strong value side against this double-figure spread. If Nashville continues its recent form, The Predators may hit 6 on their own Friday.
When you factor in an opponent that might add a few goals of its own, the Over looms as the value play here. Looking For Expert Picks On NCAAB Tonight. Halloween is right around the corner and already some of my favorite theme parks are all decked out for the festivities. Of course, that means a new Treehouse of Horror episode for my favorite cartoon and even better, the 4th Halloween Event for TSTO. But what does this have to do with yours truly. Over time, these slowed but more and more often, items I picked out showed up in the game. Whether that has anything to do with me is a battle between coincidence and hubris.
If for no other reason, it gave me an excellent excuse to hold a personal Treehouse of Horror marathon. That exercise alone made this whole post worth it. The resulting list is items I saw while watching that made me think.
